Started off Club Med in late October 1999. First Village Mauritius as Excursion G.O. Appreciates nature, loves jogging, football, oil based painting on canvas - whenever time permits.
Presently, as Groups Co-ordinator, primary role involves: responsible for all Corporate Group’s needs and VIPs. A lot of interacting and communication is required with groups, especially when they are in the Village. Organising Telematch (team building activities), Conferences/Meetings, lunch and dinner requests etc. Lastly, for the past 6 months Ghazzo has been giving free French lessons to the G.E.'s on his off day.
The beauty of working with Club Med is: one does not feel claustrophobic - everything is clear & transparent. Unlike an office job, where you need to be dressed smartly with long sleeves & a tie; life in the Village is the total opposite. You do not have a regimented nor structured dress code. Our uniforms are vibrant, casual and comfortable. We work in shorts and bermudas - sometimes in a Pareo! The ambience is great, the sun, the sea and the fun we have around the clock makes a lot of difference. We are not "desk bound" all day. We are in constant contact with guests and always on the move. It is indeed enriching and we derive self-fulfilment. Colleagues of different multicultural backgrounds and origins - a fabulous sense of solidarity. That makes Club Med Incomparable to my previous jobs!
With the opportunity of moving from one Village to another I have learnt to understand and appreciate different cultures tremendously. I no longer look at things with the "blinkers". It has opened my eyes to a wider horizon. Club Med is not only a good institution where I have acquired many skills, I have become more mature and look at things with conspicuous angles and a professional approach.
